This year we are offering four Preconference workshops on Friday, March 16th  1 PM - 5 PM.

The Joy Cycle: Discovering Audiences For Your Storytelling Wisdom

The Joy Cycle process begins with recalling your deepest joys as a storyteller. It leads you through four steps toward identifying a group of people who have a problem that your skills can help solve. Doug will demonstrate the process, then help you and a partner through it. No matter how storytelling figures in your work, you'll discover a new application for your hard-won wisdom - and what sorts of people are hungry for it.

Doug has 40 years experience as a touring storyteller and musician. Leader of hundreds of workshops on three continents and on the internet.

TRUST THE PROCESS: Expressive Arts Approach to Story-Telling

This on-your-feet exploration of interdisciplinary expressive arts methods will get you into your body and help you clain your voice – as a person and a storytleller. The essence of expressive arts is playful non-judgmental awareness that frees the imagination and is the action partner your storytelling is waiting for. Raise your voice, move your body and discover your heart’s true story that is waiting to be told.

“The practice of expressive arts gently encourages us to slow down and pay attention, to listen more deeply to self and to be more fully attentive when others are present.” Cindy Casterline, 2010 graduate of the NYEA training program.                         TRUST THE PROCESS: Expressive Arts Approach to Story-Telling This on-your-feet exploration of interdisciplinary expressive arts methods will get you into your body and help you clain your voice – as a person and a storytleller.
